MTS_WAD.TXT ----------- Title : Bunkers & Alleys I Filenames : MTS01.WAD Author : Matthew T. Smith Email Address : CompuServe 70661,3235 Description : DOOM II USE ONLY - Level 01 Designed specifically for cooperative (2-player), but makes for challenging deathmatch and single-player too. Bunkers & Alleys is a "target-rich" environment; area layout suggests a military base -- lends itself to nice "house-to-house" fighting. Lots of places to duck and hide; plenty of ammo available. Tactical Note : At higher levels, like-type enemies are pre-positioned to provide covering fire for each other. Some are "anchored" in exposed positions to draw your fire while others lie in wait. As a result, the most obvious target is not necessarily your biggest concern. Weaponry Notes : "Conventional" weapons only (shotgun, double-shotgun, chaingun, chainsaw, rocket launcher). Adversary Notes : "Conventional" enemies only (Troopers, Shotgun Dudes, and Heavy-Weapon Dudes only)... but, believe me, there are enough of them to keep you busy in single-player mode. File Notes : MTS01.WAD is the "target-rich" WAD, providing plenty of conventional (i.e., former human) enemies. Design Notes : Much care was taken to construct the Bunkers & Alleys level with limited textures, 16/32/64/128 pixel line- and sidedefs, and as many right-angles as possible. The goal was to keep the scenery-rendering math as simple as possible for the Doom II engine in order to provide more rapid screen refreshes/redraws and smoother panning during combat. ================================================================ Play Information ---------------- Episode and Level # : Doom II Level 01 Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes* Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes Difficulty Settings : Yes (affects number/type of enemies) New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No Demos Replaced : None * Level was designed primarily for two-player cooperative.
