Whats New in... DoomED Deluxe version 2.85 *New automatic Tutorial feature. Choose Help/Tutor and pick one of tutor topics. The tutor will build the structure while explaining what it is doing. When the tutor is done you can modify and inspect its work. *Memory avaialable feature helps you keep an eye on system resources. Choose Help/Memory to see this feature. *Map Printing is now even more insanely great. First side can be indicated (useful if you are studying the structure of somone else's level) and color printing has been improved. New in 2.7: **This release has some minor changes and fixes since version 2.2x and** **two major bug fixes. ** *Double-sided lines with specials now indicate their activation side in Special/Texture mode, this makes it easier to edit teleporters etc. and makes the 'flip line' command a little more meaningful :-) *Checkable item in the Display menu causes first sides of all lines to be shown in structure editing mode, this can be helpful when designing stairs, lifts, teleports, doors etc. It's annoying has hell the rest of the time which is why it defaults to off! *Fixed compatibility problem that was preventing some other editors and utils from working with DoomED Deluxe created levels, for what that's worth. *Line Specials dialog now centers itself on screen, in the previous release the new line specials dialog was inadvertently left in a spot far to the right which was a problem at display sizes of less than 1024x768. *Double-click on an item in the list in the Flats palette causes it to be added to the current texture palette. *Check box in the Wall Textures palette allows display of textures to be turned off, this may speed you up. *Sector Defaults in the Structure toolbox remember their settings when switching between modes, a real time saver. *Screen draw has been improved in structure mode to eliminate messy display. *New Tools/Validate Level menu item runs a check to catch common level problems. The Fixed Bugs: **A problem with the routine that merged lines together when vertices were moved would sometimes cause a line that should have ended up one sided to be two sided and totally wrong, this has been fixed. **A problem with the routine that deleted lines had a serious flaw that caused floating point or domain errors in the BSP. This problem is fixed, halleluia. This problem would occur occasionally when deleting a sector or merging lines, and only when the line that was deleted was the newest line created, which in many cases was quite often.
