*** UPGRDEMO.EXE *** DOOM demo upgrade utility Usage: UPGRDEMO -demo demo_name [-1.666] [-1.7a] [-1.8] [-1.9] Example: Suppose you wanted to upgrade "Demoz.lmp" to version 1.9. You would type: UPGRDEMO -demo demoz -1.9 "Demoz.lmp" now works with Doom version 1.9!! (Sorry all you people who uploaded ver. 1.9 specific demos!) TROUBLESHOOTING: If your demo still doesn't work, it's probably one of two things: 1. The demo may have been created using a modified DOOM.EXE file. If this is the case, you must use that .EXE file when playing the demo. 2. More likely, you are using a different .WAD file. When playing demos, you must use exactly the same .WAD file as used to record the demo. ANY differences at all will result in an incompatible demo. (One example of this is that a demo recorded in PENTAGON.WAD (PWAD) would not play correctly in MAP01 (IWAD). You must load the PWAD along with the .LMP demo file in order to view the demo.) i.e. DOOM2 -file PENTAGON.WAD -playdemo demoz ** HELP! MY DEMO DOESN'T WORK AND I DIDN'T RECORD IT IN A PWAD! ** Id may have modified the IWAD map of your demo between versions. Don't worry, you're not totally S.O.L. - there's still hope! You can use a .WAD utility (such as DEU) to extract the level your demo was recorded in to a PWAD. You can then play it back by loading the PWAD. i.e. DOOM2 -file MAP01.WAD -playdemo demoz ******************************************************************************** ATTENTION!: By downloading this file, you are entitled to the privilege of deathmatching us, (Shotgun and Nukage).
