To try and answer your questions.......

1. yes, you can put a 3DFX card along side a AGP video card.

2. A 3D AGP card (diamond viper, matrox millenium AGP) will run GLQuake
    but it may not be acceptable enough to play. (low fps)

3. Yes.....until your OS (Win98, NT 5.0) supports AGP you're better off
just
     not worrying about AGP. Just buy a 3DFX card and Quake away
(whether
     you have an AGP card or PCI)....when the
     next generation of VooDoo cards comes out..then look into AGP.
(IMHO)

I hope this clears things up a bit.............or it will just dump gas
on the fire.....
