I gather that, by and large, it's best to avoid scaling textures. It might
even be worth making a copy of the texture, scaling it by hand, and then
adding it to your wad as a new texture. Which leads to...

I use the extract feature in wadview (which came in the zip with newwad) or
pcx2wad. Both are available by ftp in the editing area on cdrom.com or its
mirrors...
