The OS keeps several files opened. Anyway if your HD gets corrupted all the time it's about time to put another power supply in your computer. Or to buy another HD. Which happens that I have a seperate harddisk for swapfiles (however I don't need that one very often) Don't go around yelling that software killed your MB and HD as the only thing you are doing is making a fool out of yourself. If a heavy load from software would kill someone's MB and/or HD wouldn't people who like to render animations be in lot's of trouble then ? For as their machines are easily occupied for several days at one go while in the mean time they will still be doing things on the background like going on the internet reading their mail and stuff ! If you don't know what killed your HD and MB then just be quiet don't go around saying that compilers did it. IF it was the software that would kill your MB and HD wouldn't you think someone would already have written a virus that would do that ?
