Subject: water question

I have a room with a power generator (an 8 sided cyllinder) which lays
horizontal on 2 supportive beams at each side.
The outside of the generator is glass and the inside is lava!

kinda like
========
V           V

The generator is partially covered with water (Only it's top is out of
the water).

I want the water to be drained (func_water and swith) which works...

Now for my problem... If i stand on top of the generator, I can see the
water flowing thru the glasswall....
What is the easiest or best way to solve this?

My guess is: make the supportive beams at the same horizontal length
(covering the bottom of the generator) so you can't walk under it.. and
cut the water into more parts
