Subject: what the ----?

I just downloaded v2.41 and sometimes when in obj move mode i can't move
things it'll automatically switch to scale mode and change size of brush but i
cant move it. Then in zoom mode right mouse button usually moves view, but
then it zooms instead. i can't do anything to move object instead of scaling
so i have to restart qoole. what am i doing wrong???
