Sounds like a leak. For a .pts file to be generated, the map you have
created must be 'light-tight' i.e. no gaps to outside the space. If there is
a gap, the compilation tool cannot determine how to assign a light patch to
that space (since the light falls on no polygon)

Check you map for openings and plug them by
1. moving the brushes closer
2. moving edges together on non-touching brushes
3. or by putting in a light 'plug' - another brush to fill the gap
