delete that cylender, set the snap to 8, make a new cylender. it will come
to life 'snapped to grid' and you shoudn't have to mess around with the
ghastly 'snap 1' setting.

Altho i have noticed that sometimes the 'realign to grid' feature does
deform the object you're working on, why this is i have no freaking idea,
but it happens none the less.
