Killing two birds with one stone on this one...

I agree, if going to more than one letter is easily done that's great,
but normally I have no clue of the name and therefore just want to get
as close as possible. I also think the idea I read about grouping the
textures by types (walls, waters, skys) is a pretty good thought too,
but I'm fine with the alphabatized order.

There is a problem, though. Many letter keys are already
shortcuts foruseful things. For example "s" puts you in scale mode, "r"
brush rotation mode, etc. I'm used to these shortcuts (they allow you
to work much faster) and I would hate to see them go... Maybe some more
bookmarks (for 8,9,0 or the f1-f12 keys) would be helpful.

Re: this reply, I tend to agree that the shortcuts are great and
usefull, however what you must remember is that is windowed/object
coding you know what window has focus and the only time the letters
would not do the shortcuts would be when you had focus on the texture
window, so therefore the shortcuts would still be happy and well.

Can anyone confirm this either way?

thanks, Mike
