Did you do a level 4 vis (vis -level 4)? This should get rid of your
disappearing doors and objects. You can also get this if there is a
leak in your level. BSP does not always give you a leak message, I
     have found.

I am having the same problem when I compile my Quake 1
levels. I don't think that they are leaks. The last
section of what I hope to be a 32-player deathmatch level I
am working on, had less than 300 brushes. I also had a
secret door that you could see thur at certain places in the
room it was located. How do I get rid of these glitches? I
have heard about commands you can enter into the Quake
console to debug a level, but I have yet to see a
explanation for newbies for them. I did find a command
called r_speeds 1, I tried it, but I didn't understand what
the numbers were for. Help!?

Julian.

Subject: Weird problems

I'm new to level editing, and am having a ball putting
together Q2
levels with Qoole. Problem is, when I compile the level, I
have doors
that disappear when viewed from certain angles. I've also
seen areas
turn gray. This doesn't happen in GL mode, only in software
mode.

Does this have anything to do with the thickness of the
doors? Mine are
4 units thick.

I get no errors when running BSP, VIS, or RAD.

I've put a lot of work into this level, and I'd hate to have
to start
over. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
