It's not a bug--don't use up or down.  When dealing with textures, the
texture needs to be rotated (not a setting of the angle keyvalue) to the
direction you want.  Look for a texture of water with an arrow on it, and
use it to set the direction of your texture (and align multiple brushes if
necessary), then replace it with either the field, or other textures.
Current, is like a push brush, and is only for deciding the direction a
player gets pushed when they are in the brush.  Angle is used for entities,
like doors and such and the direction that the entire entity moves, not
textures.
