Also, of course, there are limitations to the Quake engine.  I have heard
you can only have so many polygons and then it starts that disappearing act,
no matter how much VISing you do.  Although I don't know the brush limit for
Quake II, Quake 1 supposedly had a limit of anywhere from 1000 to 2000
brushes (I could never get any two people to agree on the real number).
