This type of stuff (memory counting slow) is usually a problem with
hardware.  Your clock (bus clock) could be screwed up, your battery might be
dying (shouldn't be a problem, but I've find that sometimes it is).  You CPU
could be getting too hot.. and so on.

If you've been defraggin' disks and such, and you aren't getting disk
errors, then it's probably not drive related.  Errors.. well no matter where
they come from ;) it depends on what the errors are.  If they are bsp
errors, then we can probably help on the list.  If not, then you should
probably get support from the company that sold you the server.

As to SDRAM... remember there are two types.  The cheaper stuff (that I
usually see come from Dell, Gateway, PBell, and so on) are usually 60ns
DIMMS.  The other kind, 10ns, is a helluva lot faster--and more expensive.

Your problem could be motherboard related as well.
