1. Move your mouse pointer over the word "FILE" on the bar at the top of the
window.
2. Press the left mouse button.
3. Move your mouse down over the word "NEW" on the menu that has popped up.
4. Press the left mouse button again.

We'll refer to this procedure from now on as "choosing an item from a menu".

5. Choose "Add brush -> cube (large)" from the Object Menu. (refer to steps
1-4 for the procedure)
6. Choose "Hollow" from the Edit menu.

You should now have a room.

7. Choose "Duplicate" from the edit menu.

You should now have two rooms.

8. In the "Top" window, move the mouse pointer over the current room (it's
red)
and click and drag the room so that one of the sides matches the other
room.

9. Choose "Add brush -> cube (large)" from the Object Menu.

10. Drag the cube so that it overlaps the connecting walls of both rooms.

11. Choose "CSG Subtract" from the edit menu.
