I was at an airshow where they had an A-10 display with the cannon
mounted by itself on as a display. The cannon the A-10 carries is
something like 15 feet long (including reciever/bolt system) and probably
weighs several hundred pounds. It's been 10 years so I don't remember
the actual numbers. Anyway, my point is that the recoil would be the
LAST OF YOUR WORRIES!

The 'minigun' is the nose gun from a Cobra attack helo (?). I think
there was some doorgunner version for the Huey or Jolly Green Giant that
they tested during the Vietnam era, but I could be mistaken

Oh yeah... a "chaingun" means that the weapon's action (reloading,
firing, cycling, etc.) is driven by a motor independently
(using a chain ;). Where a 'normal' gun uses the energy from firing a
round to cycle itself. So not only would you have to carry the gun and
ammo, but you'd have to carry a POWER SOURCE too!
