When you buy software you pay for the licence to use it - not the
media itself. Find a friend with a CD writer and get them to blow you
another CD (assuming they have a copy themselves).
Its not illegal since you already have a licence to own one copy of 
the software.
Under no circumstances should you contemplate buying another full
boxed copy of the game as you would then own *two* licences for
the same software and thus have been ripped off.
