You are referring to the AC-130.  I think the official name is the Spectre.  I believe the US Air
Force still has a few of these, but I'm not sure about that.  It is a 4 turboprop cargo transport
converted to carry a number of guns including the miniguns you describe.  The aircraft also carries
a 105mm howitzer, by far the largest gun ever mounted in an aircraft!  The pilot actually has a
modified fighter HUD mounted on his port-side window so he can look left and properly position the
aircraft to aim the weapons.  You aptly described it as "hell on the enemy."
