I've just sorted the problem, and you all might like to know.
The application EZdesk v1.8 is the culprit, ver 1.7 is OK.
What EZdesk1.8 does is assign hot key combinations and cntrl+space is
a video change mode for ; the shareware version does not allow this
option to be changed..rather silly I think.

What the main use of the app EZdesk does is to restore your desktop
icon positions after they have been scrambled by a crash or other
interruption.

I removed 1.8 installed 1.7 and hey... success no more crashing of Q2.

BTW the kybrd is good enough for me.
