If you are new (or not very good) with online Quake2 and would like to
play Capture The Flag, here's a great server for you to check out.
You will need to have LMCTF installed. It's 18 megs, but well worth
the download.

http://www.planetquake.com/lmctf

The server is up during non-business hours EST weekdays, and 24 hours
a day on weekends. There is an information page about it at

http://newbies.ce.net the server ip is 207.106.140.248:27910

Even if no one is there, connect and hang out for 15 minutes or so.
Most people aren't comfortable with being the first person on a server
so if you wait, chances are you'll "seed" the server and others will
start showing up. Plus, many people have their filters set up to only
show servers that have people already on them. Run around the map and
get used to where the flags and weapons are.

I'll be in and out of that server this weekend, so I really hope to
see you there.

Check out the following URL's for good Q2 tips:

http://www.gamers.com/bibles/quake2/
http://www.planetquake.com/bootcamp/

Experienced players are welcome on the server, but having HONOR and
not beating the crap out of new people is the rule. ie, 2 QGods vs 2
players who don't know how use say_team, dominating the game in
general, etc... Use your common sense/honor, split up onto separate
teams, use a less lethal weapon than normal, and help the people out
who are inexperienced instead of working on your frag count. Why not
use a blaster when you KNOW the enemy is going to still have a hard
time killing you with a rocket launcher?

Anyway, newbies check it out. QGods check it out but don't go on a
fragfest.
